MUDDOSHI RAVA FRY |Lady Fish Fry |Goan Recipe

Muddoshi or LadyFish is a clean water fish and is extraordinarily tasty. 

It is convenient to smooth this fish. It is very refined and it’s meat is whitish in colour. Apart from making Muddoshi fish curry/hooman with this, you can additionally fry this fish with rava. I choose rava fried fish as it is easy to cook. We Goans, strive specific kinds of dishes with fish and fish fry is one of them. A regular fish thali/plate in Goan houses will constantly have atleast one piece of fried fish alongside with rice, fish curry, sukha(dry) fish curry,salad and kadi.

In Goa, each morning you will note fisher female promoting fish. They go from door to door promoting fish in “paatle” or huge tubs made of bamboo or cane. Fish is a frequent dish for lunch in each domestic in Goa. 
Majority of the human beings in Goa consume veg meals barring onion and garlic on Monday and Thursday. They crave for fish on these days, yet they choose staying due to their household customs and traditions.






Ingredients: Prep. Time: 30 Min’s

4-5 Muddoshi/Ladyfish WhittingFor marinating the fish:
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoon’s chili powder
1 tablespoon saltFor Frying the fish:
2-4 tbsp oil for frying fish
For coating the fish:
1 cup rava / semolina
1 tsp chilly powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp salt

Procedure:

  • Wash the fish until its clean. Cut the head and dispose of the scales. If no longer cut, then reduce it into 2-3 pieces. I commonly get fish which is cleaned and reduce from the nearby fish store.
  • After cleansing and washing the fish, observe the components intended for marination. Do no longer add any more water. Since the fish is cleaned, it will be moist and all the substances intended for marination will stick to the fish. Keep this apart for 20 Min’s ideally in a fridge.
  • Mix the all the substances intended for coating the fish in a huge plate. So you will now get rava combined with salt and the chilly and turmeric powder.
  • Dip the fish in this rawa. Ensure that it is included with rawa on all sides.
  • I have used the shallow frying approach to fry fish. So warmness the frying pan and unfold 1 tablespoon oil. Add greater if required. Place the fish on the pan and fry on low flame. Spread half tbsp oil on pinnacle of the fish whilst frying.
  • After 10 minutes flip them to the other side. Fry them for 20 minutes.
You understand they are finished when they flip brown.
